1963-2003

The XVI district Pioneer airplane model club, the predecessor of our club, was organized in September 1963 (more correctly, resurrected, because model airplane activities were pursued prior to this date but there is no written proof), and the first written document is dated November 1963, when the club was formally organized as an airplane model club.

During the fall of 2003 we will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the club. The plan is to commemorate this occasion with a festive gathering (the initial planned date is November 8, 2003, at 1700 hour), and want to extend an invitation to of all those who had contacts with the club (officially) during the last 40 years.

  • All club members, - from inception to date (approximately 2500),
  • The principals of the Pioneer club – later renamed the Youth club,
  • The current and past principals of the schools of this district,
  • Current and past leaders of the Educational Department of this district,
  • Teachers of the district, who organized airplane model clubs in their schools,
  • Secretary Generals of the Budapest Model Airplane Association,
  • Members of the Budapest Model Airplane Association – previously Department of Model Airplanes,
  • All members and leaders of currently operating Hungarian model airplane clubs,
  • All international competitors who enjoy participating in our contests,
  • All of those who know of our operation, and would like to participate in this festive occasion. The club meeting is open to all.

The number of participants is unknown at this time, and for this reason it is requested, if you plan to attend the commemoration, to notify the organizers in order to allow for the proper and timely arrangements of facilities (notification can be given during the club meetings in person, by mail, Fax or E-mail).

The membership list is incomplete from 1963 to 1978, therefore the advance indication of intent to attend helps to fill the gap.  The membership list is complete from September 1,1978, the date when the club became independent. The current membership list will be available on the homepage (www.cavalloni.hu), please verify your name on the list.

In order to help to assemble an updated mailing list, please indicate your current mailing address, along with the declaration of your intent to attend.

We are planning to prepare a brochure consisting of pictures and documents of the past 40 years (the actual final configuration of the brochure, printed or copied, is a function of the number of participants and the amount of monetary donations from sponsors).

Part of the contents of the brochure will be memories of past activities of the participants, and for this reason we are asking anyone who has memories of relevant events, please let us know, in writing, with pictures, newspaper articles, or verbally (we will script it). We hope that the brochure will help to record the 40 years of history of the club.
